Live 🎚, Love ❤️, and Rise Above ⬆️

This is another message from God. He repeated it to me over the last several years many times over.

Living is our only option as Christians. We believe He is in control. Our life has purpose. He has a plan for you and for me. So, no matter what life brings us, we can get through it. We have strength through Him who lives in us. We have ALL that we need to keep going, move forward, to carry on….

And yet, we still entertain thoughts of leaving it all behind. Giving up. Throwing in the towel.

That’s Satan. He would love for you to give up, give in, and end it all. That’s Spiritual Warfare.

Hang in there. It’s not over until Jesus says it’s over. Jesus already cut those chains. Jesus already won this war. Live as a winner. You Win!

Keep living, and love the life you live. Love the ones around you. Even if they aren’t loving you well. Love them anyway. Love breaks down walls. Like in the game, “Rock, Paper, Scissors”, paper covers rock, Love covers sin.

If Love seems impossible, Pray for the capacity to love. He will help you.

God is Love. Jesus is God. Jesus lives in You. You are Love. You can Love. So Love. And Love well.

Rise Above. Turn off the radio, the TV, the noise around you. And get alone. Get quiet. Take that which causes you to worry and ask yourself, “is this temporary?” The answer is always “Yes.” Give it to God.”

He tells us to cast our cares on Him. He will take care of it. Hand it over. Unload it. And don’t take it back.

If I would have given in as a child, I would have never met my husband. I would have never seen South America, Europe, Washington DC, Texas, and so much more. If I would have given up as a young adult, I would have never seen or felt the love of my sons. There’s nothing like it! I would have never seen my children grow into little adults. If I would have given up as a busy mom, I would not have seen my husband and children’s success. But most importantly, I would have never experienced seeing them all come into the Kingdom of God. I have had the privilege of praying Jesus into their lives. And that is worth it all.

Colossians 3

To God Be the Glory

This hymn is my favorite. First, because it’s got an uplifting tune that lends itself to tapping toes and smiles. Second, because it tells the message of Jesus.

If you know me when I die, will you please be sure they play this at my funeral? I don’t plan on it anytime soon. But, God’s timing is never our timing, so I’m just saying….I really like this song.

I know I’m going to heaven when I die. Do you? If today was your last, are you sure you would go to Heaven?

You can know.

Here’s how….most importantly, you should be relieved to know that there’s nothing you can do to earn or deserve it. It’s a free gift. Just admit you’re a sinner, Believe in Jesus, that He lives and died, and rose again. Surrender to him, you can do it! Admit it! You’re a sinner in need of a Savior. Believe in Him. That’s it! Now Live Free!

“To God be the Glory, great things He has done. So loved He the world that He gave us His son, who yielded His life an atonement for sins and opened the life gate that all may go in! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice. Oh come to the Father through Jesus his son and give Him the Glory. Great things He has done! ”

Day 1: Why Stay High?

You may ask me, “Why is the name, Stay High?”.

It’s a simple answer. God spoke to me through the scriptures one morning in Colossians and He said loud and clear, “Stay High!”.

I wasn’t amused. In fact, I reacted like this, “Lord, I’m not laughing and that’s not funny.”

He told me to read these verses over, and over, and over again. And heard him say, “I am the best drug, the only real high. Choose me, take me, inhale me. Inhale me.

In Colossians 3, While Paul was in prison, he writes to the believers in Colosse,

“Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God, 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”

You see, I hate drugs. (Not prescription drugs) I hate the ones that people use to get “high”, that are addicting, and make people lose all morals and values. I have little to no patience for those who choose to abuse their own bodies. It’s a selfish lifestyle that leads to abuse of themselves and others. There is nothing good about it. And it effects families far worse that our communities and country will admit.

So when I read these verses, they reminded me that the Holy Spirit living in me has the power to lift me up and out of the world that pulls me down. He is addicting. In Colossians 3:4, He reminds me that, “When Christ, who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in Glory.” And that is my hope. Heaven is my goal. He paid for a free trip to eternity! Yes! Lord, Yes!

And Paul goes on to mention all the sins that we need to rid ourselves of. Now, that’s where we get happy or get humbled. Because all those awful sins that we don’t take part in, we kinda skip over those, but then, one will hit us like a ton of bricks. Mine is mentioned in here, in verse 8, “But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from you lips.” And God said, “You really do.” Verse 9 says, “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken of your old self with it’s practices 10 and have put not he new self, which is being renewed in knowledge int he image of it creator.”

Then, He spoke again. in verses 12 to 22, He says to me, “Soften your heart.” Here he mentions kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, love, peace, wisdom, gratitude, giving thanks.

Then, in verses 23 to 25, He spoke again. He said “Work for me.” …”With all your heart, as working for me, not for men (or women). 24 Since you know you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.”

I’ve been praying for a long time about starting a blog, writing a book, or feeding a FB page. I don’t know why today, but today is the day. It is the Day that the Lord has Made, let us rejoice and be glad!”

My bible is the New International Version (NIV). It is the Faith in Action Study Bible from Zondervan. My bible may read a little different from yours. But you see, what Paul wrote to the Colossians, also applies today. God’s word is Holy. It is inspired by Him who Loves you and me today. He speaks through the His Holy word. It is alive and active. I pray you are encouraged today.

Check out my next post about “Carrie ON”. It’s the name of my FB page. I’ll explain that name and help you understand the combination of why my email address is carrieonstayhigh@gmail.com.

Many Blessings,
